The name "Kampftasche" (combat bag) likely dates back to the early years of the Bundeswehr. The newly established armed forces received their initial equipment from the USA, which included personal load-bearing gear. The corresponding item was known as a "Combat Field Pack."

The small combat bag features loops on the back for attachment to a utility belt. Loops or metal rings on the exterior allow for the attachment of additional gear, such as canteens.

The bag is closed via generously sized flaps secured with buckled straps. Combat bags are typically worn centered on the back of the utility belt.

Also ideal for use as a toiletry bag.
